We love nail art, but sometimes it is difficult to create such intricate patterns and art. That’s why decals are awesome because they save you from having to draw out designs by yourself. However, we can’t always find the exact look we want at times. How do we solve this dilemma? Learn how to customize your nails like never before by creating your own decals and transferring them onto your nails instantly! This tutorial will give you the inside tips on creating whatever kind of nail art you’d like!
It’s really easy to do, you simply print out the decals of your choice, dip your finger in rubbing alcohol, press the paper firmly against your nail and hold it 30 seconds, making sure the paper is saturated. Then gently peel off the paper, and then like magic, your nail is now decorated!
What you’ll need:
• Ruby Wing Nail Polish – Make your decals look even more awesome with color changing nail polish
• 50% Rubbing Alcohol
• Computer
• Digital editing software
• Printer – inkjet works but we had better results with a laser printer
• Top Coat to seal it in
First you’re going to paint your nails the color of your choice. It is important to let your nails dry completely before you attempt to adhere a decal.
While you wait for your nails to dry, you can head over to your computer to find images you want to use on your nails, or create your own. Use a ruler to measure the size of your nails. Using a photo editing program, such as Photoshop, resize your image to the right size of your nail.
After your nails are dry, one by one, dip your finger into rubbing alcohol. Take it out, then quickly press your design ink-side down onto your nail and hold it there for 30 seconds to a minute. It is important to press hard and make sure the paper is saturated. To help ensure this, I dipped a cotton ball in the alcohol and pressed it ontop of the paper ontop of the nail. After about a minute, peel back the peice of paper, and ta da!
Feel free to use our Ruby Wing decals below!
Enjoy trying this out, and if you do be sure to share your photos of your decals!
