One of the things I love most about the holiday season is seeing all the beautiful lights and decorations. It just sets a warm, jolly mood that makes me even more excited for holidays! My favorite kind of lights are the ones that sparkle and change, because don’t know what to expect! This year you can capture the merriment of holiday lights on your fingertips and bring the magic of color changing lights to your nails with Ruby Wing nail polish! This tutorial will give you to inside tips to be inspired to try it for yourself!
The colors needed are Ruby Wing’s Electric Firefly, Groupie, Summer Love, and Eternal. A white base was used to make “Lily” pop more in the background. To add some glittery magic I dabbed on some Sunflower to the lights. Also a black striper to make the string. To create the dots I used a dotting tool, if you don’t have one don’t fret you can achieve the same effect with a bobby pin or mechanical pencil.
First start with a white base coat, and then paint “Lily” over it. This will be your background, and it will give a nice shine to your nails.
After that coat dries, take your black striper and draw diagonal swirly lines going from finger to finger, starting the next one where you left off the other one, so it looks like the lines are connected.
Now it’s time to get your dotter and make your lights. Just create dots along the line we just drew, alternating between top and bottom lights.
After all the lights are in, just throw a spot of glitter on it to add that extra holiday sparkle and you’re done!
Go outside and enjoy the color change of the holiday lights at your fingertips!
